WASHINGTON, D.C. and WARRINGTON, Pa., March 15, 2012 – Gemini Technologies announced that they have been selected by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as the 2012 Region lll Subcontractor of the Year. They were nominated by one of their prime contractors, Lockheed Martin, for working as a seamless part of the team supporting the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Mr. Robert Johnson, Project Manager for the Threat Mitigation, Engineering, and Image (TME&I) program stated, “They are outstanding performers, can be counted on to tackle the most difficult challenges, and always deliver on-time or ahead of schedule and within cost.”
Gemini’s impact on this vital TSA program includes reducing material costs by as much as 90% and managing a project plan of over 7000 lines performed by more than 150 people integrated with multiple agencies and task orders. Gemini’s contribution to the TME&I program includes the development of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and state-of-the-art chemical simulants and stimulants as training aids for airport security checkpoint training of Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) at more than 400 airports.
The Subcontractor of the Year Award honors small businesses that have provided the government and industry with outstanding goods and services as subcontractors. Winners must excel in ten criteria including delivery performance, technical capabilities, cost performance, customer interface, and exceptional results. Region III serves Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington DC.
